Our data promise

Every risk score in HomeDoc carries a provenance record — the exact source it came from, the confidence level, and when it was last fetched. When data is unavailable we say so plainly, rather than inventing a plausible-looking number. Each government dataset is cached county-by-county and refreshed on its own cadence, so you never see stale scores presented as current.

The complete source catalogue

Every database HomeDoc queries, what it powers, how often it refreshes, and a direct link to the original source.

How the data pipeline works

Every risk score follows the same hardened path from government source to your dashboard.

Step 1

Address resolved

Your address geocodes to a county FIPS code and lat/lng pair via Census and Google Maps.

Step 2

Cache checked first

A 90–365 day county cache is queried. Cache hits are free and return in <50 ms.

Step 3

Live fetch on miss

Each API is called with a timeout guard, retry logic, and non-200 handling. No silent failures.

Step 4

Provenance stamped

Every result records the source name, confidence level, and fetch timestamp — visible in the UI.
